Natural Gas Compressor Power & Control

Daley Electric has been installing electrical services for the power and control of natural gas compressors for several years. Most installations require new electrical services sized to power the large compressor motor loads serving the gas compression system. Services may range from 200 amps at 480 volts for smaller or single compressor systems, to 1600 amps at 480 volts for 3 to 4, 250-300 HP compressors. Job site requirements typically include integrating various system control components such as valve control panels and dryers with the compressor control systems. On many projects the compressor controls are connected to site communications to notify service people of any compressor issues. Compressor controls are usually monitored over the internet. Daley Electric Company has been factory trained for the installation of ANGI Energy Systems compressors and support equipment. We have installed Bauer gas compressors as well. Natural gas compressors for fleet vehicle fueling use different methods of filling vehicles. We have completed installations for time fill and fast fill using CNG dispensers with fuel management systems. It is typical that these systems require specific site wiring. Most of our projects are design build. We evaluate the equipment power and control wiring requirements and develop specific site conduit and wiring plans to serve the needs of the project.
